FMOGG/Friday Morning OLG Guys Group is a bunch of dudes from young single guys to retirees who want a little company on their faith journey. We have wildly varying degrees of religious, Christian, Catholic knowledge and experience.
We aim for less than 30 minutes of homework and try to get suggested discussion questions out earlier in the week.
We meet most Fridays from 6:15-7:15am in the OLG church dining room (Edina, MN). We have coffee.
Lately it's been about 12 guys consistently showing up. If we can grow to a few more we can split up into two tables of discussions when we meet.
We begin with prayer, news/announcements, and then get into the content, and then wrap up with another prayer.
Content varies - recently we read Luke, we recently wrapped up Time for God by Jacques Philippe. Before that we did a book on relics and sacramentals. Before that we did the Sunday mass readings and before that it was the book Journey to the Cross.
Can't always make it? No biggie, but when you do show up, you get better and you help us too. Weren't able to do the reading? No biggie, just own it and show up.
We've got guys who are just coming back to the Church, we have some from other Christian denominations, and some who have been going to Demontreville for 20+ years - it's a pretty wide spectrum of respectful men.
Are you interested in growing in your faith, traveling further down that faith journey? Maybe making some new connections and friends in the meantime? This might be a good option for you. Try it out, if it doesn't work, be sure to continue to try to find something that does work for you.
